I think that by combining our engineering and love towards cosmos in our project, we can make people really curious…
Regardless of age or cultural background, astronomy, space- and geo-science are raising interest in the public. Limited formats offer hands-on experiences or focus on research/discovery aspects that are time-consuming and favour experimenting. This might affect the scientific skill set of each individual.
The main task is to equip a walking trail with learning and research sites in the rural area. The Astro Day’N’Night Path will work for all age groups and be offered in Dutch, German, and English.
Different topics of astronomy and planetary science will be covered for the visitors‘ own speed and in a playful/ interactive manner. They depend on season and day/night-time. All accompanied by written, filmed, and audio-recorded guides in the form of an adventure setting.
The entire path will be designed for people of all ages and physical abilities. Elements for citizen science include measurements of an object’s position in the sky that may
reveal data on the solar system, confirm the time equation, collect solstice data, investigate stellar occultations and experience various forms of scientific practices. Results may be reported in logbooks, like geocaches or webforms. Online formats support analog info panels and printed take-away guides. Central part will be a YouTube channel explaining various experiments on different levels of sophistication; for every scientific skill set of our visitors for their best possible learning experience.
Careful evaluations of their experiences are workshops/focus groups and randomised surveys during and beyond the runtime of our project.
We are excited to take you on the journey with us!

I think that by combining our engineering and love towards cosmos in our project, we can make people really curious…
…about space and spark a passion for exploration and discovery in future generations 🙂
Space and universe have long been a topic of discussion, which still today one cannot fully understand. The interest they rise is evident, and this leads…
…to the formation of astronomy clubs in universities. Everyone is astonished by the heavenly bodies, and it’s working, but only a few know about it…
…Helping people understand and explore the beauty of the universe is a very noble work and also my motivation to join this project. With this project…
…we are creating a very beautiful knowledge base for all space enthusiasts out there and we hope that people love it.
